Attorney Cristen Mercer is a South Florida native, born and raised right here in the Sunshine state!
She began her education by attending the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature, and a Minor in Political Science (Pre-Law). During her time at UCF, she became a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity and the Phi Alpha Delta Legal fraternity. Through these organizations, she volunteered her time to raise money for various philanthropies, including the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Upon graduation, she worked as a paralegal and was accepted to the Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Shepard Broad Law Center. In 2010, she graduated from NSU’s law school with her Juris Doctorate (JD) degree and was admitted to practice law. While studying law at NSU, she participated in the International Law Clinic, the Caribbean Law Clinic, and worked as a research assistant for Environmental Law professor Richard Grosso at the Everglades Law Center. While most attorneys would consider their legal education complete after passing the Bar exam, attorney Mercer chose to expand her legal education. She was accepted to Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, where she received a Master of Law (LLM) degree in International Law in 2011.
Following her return to the United States in 2012, she began practicing immigration law and her husband became her first client! As someone who has also been through the immigration process on both a professional and personal level, she offers her clients unique and relevant insights to assist in navigating an otherwise difficult process. She is a member in good standing with the Florida Bar, and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Attorney Mercer began her legal career as an associate attorney with the law office of Wayne M. Levine, P.A., and in 2015, attorney Mercer partnered with fellow attorneys Laura Geddes-Paez and Wayne M. Levine to find the immigration law firm of Levine, Paez, & Mercer, PA. In 2020, attorney Mercer assumed control of the firm, and has continued to assist clients in South Florida, and all over the world, navigate the complexities of the U.S. immigration law system. In 2022, Levine, Paez & Mercer, PA changed the firm name to Mercer Law, PA., ushering in a fresh start and new era for the firm.
Attorney Mercer is passionate about educating people of their legal rights. On the third Tuesday of each month, she hosts a 30-minute live radio segment where she gives immigration law updates to listeners and answers immigration-related questions from local callers. Clients and listeners can join in to hear attorney Mercer and the Heartbeat of the Caribbean on 1170 WAVS a.m. radio, simulcast in Broward and Miami Dade counties on 107.9 f.m. radio. She also volunteers to provide free legal counsel every year at the Miramar citizenship drive and hosts two seminars per year (one in the fall semester, and one in the spring semester) to answer immigration questions and provide immigration information for Palm Beach State College international students.
In her spare time, she loves to travel and seek out new experiences and adventures. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and is an avid nature lover. She proudly supports Good Karma Pet Rescue of South Florida, Beyond Nine Cat Rescue, the South Florida Wildlife Center, and the Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge.

Ryan A. Israel exclusively practices immigration law. He is honored to have the privilege of working for and defending people from different cultures and countries around the world, and he believes in fighting to keep families together and in helping people immigrate to the United States to realize their dreams. Ryan speaks fluent Spanish, and some Portuguese, Italian, and French. He is a licensed attorney in Florida and Michigan and is a member of the Florida Bar and of the Michigan Bar. He is admitted to practice in the Southern District Court of Florida and in the Eastern District Court of Michigan.
Ryan attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate studies and graduated with a Romance Languages and Literature degree. He attended Michigan State University College of Law and received a Juris Doctor degree. Ryan graduated Magna Cum Laude, and he received the Jurisprudence Award for the Laws of War. After law school, he went on to study at the University of Michigan School of Social Work and graduated with an MSW and as a child welfare scholar recipient. Ryan is an experienced trial attorney, representing clients before the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) in removal proceedings, and filing appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Ryan loves to travel, hike and spend time with family and friends.
